A Couple of Great Restaurants in Lake Mary, Florida in Seminole County

If you are ever driving along Interstate 4 between Orlando and Daytona Florida, I'd like to recommend a couple wonderful restaurants that you should try. Both of these restaurants serve great food at a reasonable price. They are both located in Lake Mary, Florida, which is about 15 miles north of Orlando, in Seminole County.

Darbar Indian Restaurant, 3821 Lake Emma Rd, Lake Mary, Florida 32746

Monday through Thursday: 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Friday and Saturday: 5:00 PM - 10:30 PM

Sunday: 5:00 PM - 9:30 PM

Darbar is located at, Lake Mary next to Einstein's Bagels and behind the Burger King on Lake Mary BLVD. It opened in November of 2011 and serves some of the best India food that I've tasted. It is nicely decorated and the service was great.

Darbar serves dinners that are made to fresh to order. I would recommend the Vegetarian appetizer platter which is quite large and has an assortment of appetizers including samosa, onion, and bhaji. Everything on this platter was delicious, including the hot and spicy green sauce.

Dabar Indian Restaurant
We also ordered the South Indian Vegetarian Mysore Masala Dosa which is a huge rice and lentil crepe filled with potato and milagaipodi. We also enjoyed the Tandoori shrimp, which were plump and juicy and had just the right amount of spice and is served over rice. For drinks, we ordered some delicious mango lassies and Indian spice tea. They also offer lunchtime buffets each day and Sunday brunch with very reasonable prices. I think we'll go back soon and try them, since we were very impressed with the dinner menu.

Fish Bones

Fish Bones, 7005 CR46A, Lake Mary, FL 32746

407-581-2399

Open daily for dinner: Sun.-Thurs. 5:00-10:30pm, Fri.-Sat. 5:00-11:00pm.

Happy Hour: Mon-Sat. 4:30pm.

Fishbones is in the Heathrow area of Lake Mary, right off of Route 46A. It is a wonderful place to stop with friends to have a drink and some appetizers. They have been rated the top Happy Hour in Seminole county for good reason!! The appetizers are delicious. This is an inexpensive way to enjoy some good food that has an expensive restaurants cuisine feel. Some of our favorite Happy hour appetizers are the wood grilled oysters, the dang bang shrimp, sushi, tuna tacos and PIE mussels' ciopinno and fried calamari. The sushi is half off, fried calamari is $3, tuna tacos are $1 each, shrimp cocktail is $1.25, raw oysters are 25¢ each and wood-grilled are 35¢ each. With that price you can afford a few of their cheap drinks such as the draughts that are just $2 each!! Happy hour starts at 4:30PM and lasts until 6:30PM. On many nights they have live musicians playing acoustic music in the outside patio dining area. The unique outside dining area has a full bar and seating set up like chairs on a boat. It usually gets packed, so I recommend getting there early. They will also serve items from the main menu, which are delicious, but a bit pricier. We have enjoyed some of their full course meals in their inside main dining area. The inside area also has a full liquor bar with extensive wine selections and a Sushi Bar. They have great seafood and steaks! There's always a featured seasonal special, and right now it's Florida stone crabs every Sunday and Monday-all you can eat, including (bread, salad, and sides), for $39.95. Anyone who's a stone crab fan knows what a terrific value this is. I'd recommend you try Fishbones, as it is an all around great restaurant.
